Mielke Oil Company Acquires J & J Waste Oil Inc., Expanding Mielke Environmental

Mielke Oil Company has acquired J & J Waste Oil Inc. of St. James, Minnesota, bringing its used oil collection and recycling services into Mielke Environmental, a division of Mielke Oil Company.

The acquisition builds on the Sawatzky family’s 30-year history of serving businesses in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. With the addition of J & J’s facilities, Mielke now has five facilities across the Upper Midwest to support its customers.

Building on a family business legacy

J & J Waste Oil Inc. is a second-generation business specializing in used oil collection and recycling. Over the past three decades, the Sawatzky family has built a well-known business rooted in service to its regional customers.

Based in Little Falls, Minnesota, Mielke Environmental is the environmental services division of Mielke Oil Company. Its collection and recycling services include:

  • Used antifreeze
  • Used absorbents

Mielke Environmental serves Minnesota, North Dakota, and parts of Wisconsin and South Dakota. The addition of J & J brings its southern Minnesota and northern Iowa used oil collection and recycling business into the division.
